Privacy policy

This policy explains how Ascendtials LLC, a California limited liability company (“Ascendtials,” “we”), collects and uses personal information when you visit this website, create an account, place an order, join our referral programme or contact us. It forms part of our terms of service.

Information you give us.

• Account details: name, email address and a securely hashed password.
• Order details: name, email, shipping address, the items ordered and payment method chosen.
• Research-use attestation: the confirmations you give at checkout, recorded with the time and the IP address they were made from.
• Offer sign-up: name, phone number and email, if you request the first-order discount.
• Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
• Messages you send through our contact form.
• Referral programme: your referral activity and the PayPal or Venmo handle you give for payouts.

Payment information. Card payments are entered with and processed by our payment processor; we never receive or store full card numbers. Cryptocurrency payments are completed on our payment provider's hosted page.

Information collected automatically. We count page views with first-party analytics that use an anonymous visitor identifier which changes every day, so individual visitors cannot be followed over time. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which reports aggregate traffic without cookies. Our servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and troubleshooting.

We use a small number of first-party cookies, only to make the site work:

• age and research-use confirmation, so the entry notice is not shown on every visit;
• your cart, and any promotional code you applied;
• the referral link you arrived from, kept for up to 90 days so the referrer is credited;
• whether you have already seen the first-visit offer;
• a session cookie that keeps you signed in.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can delete cookies in your browser at any time; the site will simply ask for the entry confirmation again and empty your cart.

• to process, ship, track and support your orders, and to provide your account;
• to verify payments and prevent fraud and misuse;
• to keep records of research-use attestations and enforce our terms;
• to operate the referral programme and pay rewards;
• to answer your messages and send transactional emails such as order and account notices;
• to send marketing emails or the first-order offer, only if you asked for them;
• to understand overall site traffic and improve the store; and
• to comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the store, under contracts limiting their use of it:

• payment processors and our cryptocurrency payment provider;
• shipping carriers, for delivery;
• our hosting, database and email-delivery providers;
• PayPal or Venmo, when you request a referral payout.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, including where we suspect products are being misused, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business.

Order, payment and attestation records are kept for as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes, generally seven years. Account information is kept while your account is open and deleted or anonymised after you close it, except where we must keep it for those purposes. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Anonymous analytics are kept in aggregate.

The site is served only over encrypted connections, passwords are stored as one-way hashes, and access to customer data is limited to people who need it to run the store. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us if you suspect your account has been compromised.

You can update your account details at any time, and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message. You can also ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request deletion and correction; and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. We verify requests by confirming details we already hold, and you may use an authorised agent.

To make a request, contact us through our contact page. We may keep records we are legally required to retain, such as order and attestation records.

This site is intended only for adults aged 21 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger, and will delete it if we learn that we have.

We may update this policy by posting a new version with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
