AOD-9604 (AOD9604) is a synthetic 16-residue peptide analogue of the C-terminal region of human growth hormone (hGH). It consists of hGH residues 177–191 with an additional tyrosine at the N-terminus and contains an intramolecular disulfide bond between Cys7 and Cys14, corresponding to the Cys182–Cys189 bridge of the native hormone. It was developed from earlier work on synthetic C-terminal hGH fragments.

The parent sequence hGH(177–191) was reported to reproduce the antilipogenic activity of intact hGH in isolated rat adipose tissue, without a measurable lipolytic effect in that system. AOD-9604 has been described as an analogue of this lipolytic domain, and its lipolytic activity has been examined in rodent adipose tissue preparations. It is reported not to cross-react in the hGH isoform immunoassays used to distinguish growth-hormone isoforms, consistent with its lack of the full-length hormone's receptor-binding structure.

AOD-9604 appears in research on growth-hormone structure–function relationships, adipocyte lipid-metabolism models and peptide analytical chemistry, where LC–MS methods and in vitro serum and urine incubation studies identified a comparatively stable metabolite, CRSVEGSCG. Lyophilized material is hygroscopic and should be kept desiccated and protected from light.
