Dihexa is a small-molecule peptidomimetic, N-hexanoyl-Tyr-Ile-(6)-aminohexanoic amide, built from the N-terminal tripeptide region of angiotensin IV. Its backbone is capped at the N-terminus with a hexanoyl group and terminated as a 6-aminohexanamide, replacing the native residues beyond isoleucine; it is a three-unit construct rather than a hexapeptide, and is also indexed under the research codes PNB-0408 and ATH-1001.

Reported work on angiotensin IV-derived analogs describes this chemotype as acting on the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) / c-Met receptor tyrosine kinase system, with Dihexa characterised as an HGF mimetic that engages the receptor and downstream Akt, MEK and TOR signalling in cell and zebrafish lateral-line assays; related analogs in the same series were characterised instead as HGF/c-Met antagonists.
