Selank Spray contains Selank, a synthetic heptapeptide (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) consisting of the tetrapeptide tuftsin, an immunoglobulin G-derived fragment, extended at the C-terminus with a Pro-Gly-Pro sequence intended to increase metabolic stability.

Selank is reported to inhibit enkephalin-degrading peptidases in serum and, in rodent tissue, to alter the expression of genes involved in GABAergic neurotransmission and of genes encoding cytokines and chemokines. Its molecular target has not been fully defined.

Selank Spray is supplied as a pre-dissolved aqueous solution of Selank in a 15 mL metered dispensing container, a format intended to simplify aliquoting and laboratory handling without a separate dissolution step. Keep the container sealed and refrigerated, protected from light, and avoid freezing; identity and purity of the dissolved material should be confirmed analytically before use.
